secularism retained in new consitution

KATHMANDU: Secularism will be held in the new constitution.

As the Constituent Assembly continued voting on individual articles of the constitution and correction recommendations enrolled on them, the CA guaranteed that the country will be common in the new constitution.

The CA rejected correction recommendations enrolled by Kamal Thapa, Anuradha Thapa, Deepak Bohora, Shivalal Thapa and Bishwendra Paswan among others on Article 4.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal's Kamal Thapa and Rastriya Prajatantra Party's Bohora had requested that secularism be expelled from the constitution and Hindu state be said.

After CA Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang declared that his proposition was rejected, Kamal Thapa had requested part voting.

As the CA Chair started split voting, just 21 CA individuals stood up in backing of the proposition. As the CA Rules requires 61 persons to start the split voting, the voting was not done.

The joint proposition tabled by Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist, on the other hand, was embraced by two-third lion's share.

Subsequently, secularism was held in the Article 4.

Then, the CA embraced Articles 5 and 6 and additionally the joint three-gathering proposition enlisted on them. The Article 5 speaks the truth national hobbies and 6 about the national dialect.

Voice voting had rejected different proposition enrolled by administrators of different gatherings, for the most part periphery ones, on the supported articles.
